Acoustic insulation at Bergen Vann

The challenge

Noise from water pipes has values of up to 90dBA and it is desirable to dampen this as much as possible with the help of the insulation of pipes and valves.

The solution

The pipes were insulated with 50mm mineral wool bowls and sheathed with a steel jacket. Valves and flanges were insulated with insulation jackets 50 mm thick.

Products

Thermal insulation jackets is a flexible and inspection-friendly solution for valves. These are measured on-site and produced in our own premises.

This job was executed with 2 men in 2 days

Noise measurements

Measurements taken from 3 different points in the room and the measurements uninsulated are:

• Pkt.1 = 79dBA
• Pkt. 2 = 83.9dBA
• Pkt. 3 = 90dBA

Noise measurements carried out after insulation has been installed are:

• Pkt.1 = 72dBA
• Pkt. 2 = 75dBA
• Pkt. 3 = 76dBA
