The Power Ascender is an approved machine for lifting both equipment and personnel. We have already used this device in several projects, and the experiences so far show that it is a good supplement to traditional rope-based access technology.
Training and Certification
The manufacturer Skylotec Actsafe requires that users undergo training from a certified company.
StS-ISONOR is now certified by Skylotec and can provide both training and practice in the use of these machines. It is important to note that it is not sufficient to be a certified access technician; incorrect use can pose a danger. Therefore, precise and clear training is crucial. The training consists of several courses, including a one-day course in personnel transport and equipment transport. We can also tailor courses as needed.
Scope of Work
The use of power ascender is relevant for anyone working with access technology and at heights, and can also be relevant for other industries, such as the power industry, rock protection, construction, and civil engineering. This equipment is used to transport skilled personnel to work at heights, both our own certified access technicians and other skilled personnel who are not certified. A typical scope of work can be on a jacket at a height of 80 meters. The alternative to using this device is manual climbing. The advantage of the motorized lifting device is that it saves time and provides a good ergonomic solution. Rescue at heights also becomes more efficient. This equipment is approved for two purposes: personnel transport and rigging lighter objects up to 250 kg.
Challenges and Results
For long distances, we choose to use the Power Ascender, which improves safety by making actions faster and with better ergonomics. The result is more efficient execution and better HSE, especially in terms of ergonomics.
