Peter De Fresnes and Jørgen Hatland have now completed their respective qualification programmes and are certified as Rope Access Safety Supervisors.
Two new Rope Access Safety Supervisors!
Peter De Fresnes and Jørgen Hatland have now completed their respective qualification programmes and are certified as Rope Access Safety Supervisors.
Their paths to certification have been different, but the objective has been the same: to develop the competence required to lead work safely, effectively and efficiently.
Two different paths to the same goal
Peter held IRATA Level 3 certification and converted to NS 9600.
He then completed a trainee period of at least one year and 300 hours.
Jørgen started at Level 1 and progressed through the levels until he was certified as a Rope Access Safety Supervisor.
Thorough on-the-job follow-up
Both qualification programmes involve close follow-up and evaluation on the job. The candidates have met with the person responsible for the discipline, discussed their experiences, and prepared reports on what works well and what can be improved.
The evaluation covers four main themes: rope access supervision, safety, ergonomics and efficiency. In addition, the candidates are assessed by a Rope Access Safety Supervisor on the job against seven standard topics.
- Represent the rope access team in meetings with external parties
- Lead the rope access team during work operations
- Plan access, ergonomics and the rescue plan
- Plan and lead rescue training
- Practical risk assessment
- Carry out on-site equipment inspections
- Reporting and recording of hours
Broad experience from numerous projects
