Training in rescue equipment (Chapter 12)

Duration
From 1 to 3 days, depending on which areas of the standard the training covers. All courses include a theoretical part lasting approximately 4 hours.
Target Group
This course is designed for anyone working at height or in environments where a fall without protection would have serious consequences. The course is suitable for anyone who uses fall protection equipment in their daily work, regardless of industry.
Entry Requirements
No specific entry requirements for the basic fall protection course. For buddy rescue, the participant must have completed an area-specific course, for example A.1 Scaffolding or A.2 Mast/Antenna/Drilling Tower. For organised rescue preparedness, the participant must have completed the A.8 Petroleum area-specific course.
Certificate Validity
The certificate is valid for 4 years. Maintenance of fall protection competence shall be carried out as required, but at least every four years. Maintenance of rescue competence shall be carried out as required, but at least every two years.

Objectives of Training in Fall Protection Equipment
The NS 9610–certified fall protection course is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The objective of the course is to provide participants with a thorough understanding of legislation, standards, fall theory, load calculations, and the practical use of various fall protection systems
